MOBILIAN AND WIDCOMM FORM ALLIANCE TO OFFER SUPERIOR
COMBINATION WI-FI/BLUETOOTH SOLUTIONS

WIDCOMM Becomes Latest Member of Mobilian’s TrueAlliance™ Partnership Program,
Enhancing Mobilian’s TrueRadio™ Chipset, the Industry’s Most Highly Integrated and Effective Wi-Fi™/Bluetooth™ Combination Solution

COMDEX FALL 2002, LAS VEGAS, NEVADA, (November 18, 2002) —
Mobilian Corporation, a company that designs and develops integrated chipsets and software for wireless applications, and WIDCOMM, the leading provider of Bluetooth software, systems and turnkey designs, today announced they have entered into an alliance to bundle WIDCOMM’s BTW Bluetooth Communication Software with Mobilian’s TrueRadio™ chipset. The partnership marks general availability of a complete, single SKU combination Bluetooth™ plus Wi-Fi™ (802.11b) solution utilizing Mobilian’s highly integrated and optimized chipset.

“ The wireless industry is capitalizing on the fact that Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are complementary. WIDCOMM is excited to expand our role in this combination category by partnering with coexistence leader Mobilian Corporation,” said Ed Lake, CFO/COO at WIDCOMM. “We believe the combination Bluetooth/Wi-Fi market Mobilian pioneered will be significant, and that their highly integrated solution offers a superior user experience, providing true simultaneous operation of Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.”

Likewise, Mobilian sees WIDCOMM as a key strategic partner. According to Frank Hanzlik, VP of Marketing and Product Management at Mobilian, “We believe WIDCOMM has the best Bluetooth software solution available on the market today. By partnering with a market leader like WIDCOMM, we can provide our customers with a turnkey solution offering the broadest applications support in the industry.”

The TrueRadio chipset enables the convergence of Bluetooth and Wi-Fi as complementary technologies. Top tier OEMs are now requesting combination Bluetooth and Wi-Fi solutions for platforms such as desktops, laptops and handhelds to meet their customers’ demand for products with both technologies collocated, and the TrueRadio chipset bundled with the WIDCOMM BTW Software is an ideal solution. Platforms enabled with TrueRadio will allow users to experience the
convenience of combined Wi-Fi and Bluetooth usage models, with no interference or concerns over performance interruptions.

Network card OEMs who select the TrueRadio and WIDCOMM solution will be able to bring a fully-qualified and standards compliant Wi-Fi plus Bluetooth product to market quickly and cost effectively, eliminating the need to work with multiple silicon vendors or handle chipset and Bluetooth software stack integration on their own.

According to Allen Nogee, senior analyst, wireless component technology at In-Stat MDR, “As the 2.4 GHz band will continue to have considerable market share over the course of the next few years, combination 802.11b/g and Bluetooth coexistence solutions will play an important role. Mobilian's TrueRadio chipset is a truly elegant integrated offering, delivering simple, cost effective and true simultaneous operation of Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Combination platforms with Mobilian's chipset solution inside will likely provide a great coexistence experience for end-users.”

With today’s announcement, WIDCOMM becomes the latest company to join Mobilian’s TrueAlliance™ partnership program. The goal of the TrueAlliance program is to provide the best possible solutions to Mobilian’s customers by strategically aligning with the industry’s leading providers. Mobilian plans to announce additional TrueAlliance partners in coming weeks and months.

About The TrueRadio Chipset

The Mobilian TrueRadio chipset implements all the analog and digital functionality of two complete radios in only two chips, thereby delivering the most highly integrated combination Wi-Fi/Bluetooth reference design available in the industry. The TrueRadio chipset is based on the company’s proprietary Sim-Op™ technology, a collection of highly innovative techniques that allow each radio to operate at precisely the same time, thus supporting applications that cannot tolerate even small interruptions in signal transmission, such as voice and audio visual applications. The TrueRadio
chipset, thus, represents the first available solution to enable true simultaneous operation of 100% standards compliant Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, providing “coexistence without compromise”™ to users of the technology.
